After a quarter century, the legendary Sarabeth’s was due for a makeover. A typographic overhaul of the packages allowed the look of the product to measure up to its reputation.
Bella Cucina
Packaging for Mediteranean-inspired products of Bella Cucina is rooted in the 19th century. Hand-colored engravings and delicate typography create an artisanal look.
Irving Farm
A makeover for Irving Farm required a printed bag that could accomodate color-coded stickers. The bag was inspired by 19th-century engravings and typography.
Late July
Vintage cracker graphics inspired the design of the Late July packaging. All type on the front panel of the box is hand lettered, including the net weight.
Tate’s
Tate’s top-rated chocolate-chip cookies (and cakes, pies, brownies, and blondies) are impossible to resist. Victorian-era illuminated letterforms inspired the logotype and packaging.
Williams-Sonoma
This margarita mix and salt were the two best-selling products in Williams-Sonoma for a decade, and were followed by a line of other flavors using commissioned woodcuts.
El Paso Chile Co
Using wood type faces and bold primary colors gives this chili mix, which comes in a kitchen-match box, its spicy allure. The brand was extended to a lively line of barbeque products.
Jean-Georges
The design of grape seed oil for chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten combines a California and French sensibility—a West Coast color palette with a Provencal background.
Qbel
The package for Qbel, a new line of natural chocolates, had to look fun and trigger the tastebuds. The lettering and image is influenced by the German “Object Poster” of the 1900s.
American Spoon
After 25 years, American Spoon was in need of a redesign. A new logo using a wood engraving, and botanicals on the labels, brought new life to this family business.
