I was introduced to Louise Fili’s work through a former supervisor early in my graphic design career who’d often cull through volumes of Graphis packaging books for inspiration, or sadly, ideas to scavenge. Among the work highlighted were a few other firms of note, but through the years it has been Louise’s work that stayed with me the most. I have loved letters since I was 22, and ironically, it was not something that came easy—for a good while it made as much sense to me as a foreign language. But one day it clicked, and I began to understand the mechanics of what makes great letters work. 13 years later, lettering and typography are still at the forefront of my graphic design and my art, and the works of individuals like Louise remain a source of inspiration.

And to finally get a peek into your studio, with its full kitchen, I can’t help but feel a bit of envy. Wow. :)

Louise, learning more about what you’re doing — in studying your site — suggests a marriage made in heaven. More so, perhaps, given the love of food, packaging it beautifully (and lovingly) sets the tone for, too, a impassioned life in all things designed (to be eaten, by mouth or with the eyes!)
